The Mustangs U.12 team delivered their best offensive performance of the season, defeating Mellieħa 8-3 to be crowned 2026 National Baseball League Champions.
The Mustangs came out swinging, going through the first eight hitters in the opening inning and scoring 4 runs to take early control of the game. Mellieħa quickly responded with 3 runs of their own to stay in contention, but the Mustangs kept the pressure on in the second inning, adding another 4 runs in what became their highest-scoring game of the season.
Both teams showed tremendous effort, determination, and improvement throughout the season, making the U.12 league a fantastic showcase for youth baseball in Malta. Congratulations to both the Mustangs and Mellieħa players, coaches, and families for an exciting season, and we look forward to seeing what comes next for these talented young athletes.
