The Mustangs U.15 side delivered another strong performance to defeat Mellieħa 13-5 and officially be crowned the 2026 U.15 Baseball League Champions.
Mellieħa opened the scoring early with two runs, but the Mustangs responded immediately to level the game. Samuel Moreno reached base and advanced after Liam Brincat was hit by a pitch, with both runners eventually scoring on passed balls. Giulio Micallef later reached on a fielder’s choice, while Benjamin Pace followed with a clean RBI single before eventually crossing the plate himself.
The Mustangs continued to build momentum with solid hitting and aggressive baserunning throughout the game. Amy Summer Elliott added to the offence with a big 2-RBI double as the Mustangs gradually pulled away inning after inning.
A late rally by Mellieħa saw Kole Bartolo hit a 2-RBI single to bring in two more runs, however the comeback attempt fell short as the Mustangs closed out the game for the championship victory.
On the mound, Liam Brincat got the start for the Mustangs, with Matteo Ciappara taking over in relief and Elliott closing the game. Mellieħa’s pitching duties were handled by starting pitcher Cody Tabone, followed by Lucia Zhang in relief, while Bartolo came in as closer.

U.12 Mellieha (3) Mustangs (1)
Mellieħa defeated the Mustangs 3-1 in another closely contested game to tie the U.12 National Baseball League Finals series at 2-2.
Mellieħa struck first with 3 runs in the opening inning, while the Mustangs answered with a run of their own after Matteo Ciappara led off with a double, followed by an RBI double from Max Bianco. The Mustangs later managed to get runners on base, but Mellieħa’s defence held firm to prevent further scoring.
The decisive final game of the U.12 National Baseball League Finals will now take place this Saturday 23rd March at 08:45 at the Marsa Baseball Field
