The 2026 Malta National Baseball League Finals are officially heading to a decisive Game 7 after the Mustangs completed a remarkable comeback from a 3-0 series deficit to tie the series 3-3 against Mellieħa.
Both teams battled closely through the first five innings, with Mellieħa coming up with two crucial bases-loaded double plays to keep the game within reach. Steven Grima and Jeff Tabone combined brilliantly on a 6-4-3 double play in the fourth inning and a 4-6-3 double play in the fifth to stop the Mustangs from extending their lead.
