Recap
After the Mellieha Northenders won the first game of this best of 3 series, the Brewers look to win this second game in order to force a third game.
In a similar fashion to the first game, Mellieha started off the second game strong offensively. Michael Bartolo and Vincenzo Mazzamuto reached base for Masashi Suzuki who hit a powerful 3-run homerun to drive them in and highlight a 5-run 1st inning. The Brewers rallied in the 2nd inning to make it a 3-run ballgame but Mellieha weren’t done yet.
Masashi Suzuki, with 2 runners on base, hit another 3-run homerun in the 3rd inning to give Mellieha a comfortable lead. Matt Borg and Mattheus Konno of Mellieha padded the lead in the 5th inning with 2 solid hits of their own. The Brewers rallied again, scoring 4 more runs, but this was not enough to overcome their deficit.
The Mellieha Northenders win their second game by a score of 14-6 behind a strong performance from Masashi Suzuki who was unanimously voted the player of the game. The Northenders now advance to the final scheduled for the 14th of April.
