In the second game of the day, Mellieha continued were they left off.
Mellieha’s offense wasted no time building an early cushion. Consecutive extra-base hits from Mellieha’s heart of the order secured a comfortable lead after the first 3 innings. In the 5th inning, Mellieha put the game out of reach with a 5-run inning, leading to a 17-5 win for Mellieha.
Rookie Owen Hardnen of Mellieha continued to shine, earning him the MVP award for this game. Fellow teammate Cory Debono had another solid game, as did Saints newcomer Kenny Largey. The race for 1st place now heats up as Mellieha stand in 2nd place, just 1 game shy of 1st place.
