The first game of the doubleheader started strongly for the undefeated Sliema Patriots. Gabriel di Sabatino hit an inside-the-park homerun and big hits by Richard Aviles continued to pad Sliema’s lead late in the game. Late runs by the Saints were not enough to complete the comeback as the Patriots take game 1. Richard Aviles was voted the MVP of the game, going 4 for 4 with 4 runs batted in.
