The Maltese Olympic Committee hosted an outstanding Awards Night this week, celebrating the achievements and contributions of athletes and sports leaders from across the country. Among the evening’s most meaningful moments was the induction of the late Patrick Pace into the MOC Hall of Fame the first ever individual from the Malta Baseball and Softball Association to receive this prestigious honour.
Patrick Pace, widely regarded as one of the founding pillars of baseball and softball in Malta, dedicated decades to developing the sport, nurturing athletes, and representing Malta on the international stage. His posthumous recognition marks a historic milestone for the association and highlights the profound impact of his lifelong commitment.

The award was accepted on his behalf by his wife, who delivered an emotional speech reflecting on Patrick’s legacy, his passion for the game, and the countless players he inspired throughout his life. Her words resonated deeply with those in attendance, many of whom had worked closely with Patrick during his years of service to the sport.
The Malta Baseball and Softball Association expressed its gratitude to the Maltese Olympic Committee for considering and approving Patrick Pace’s induction, describing the moment as “long overdue and deeply deserved.”
The MOC Awards Night once again showcased the importance of recognising individuals who have shaped Maltese sport. Patrick Pace’s entry into the Hall of Fame stands as a tribute not only to his achievements but also to the future generations who continue to benefit from the foundation he built.
A historic honour, a heartfelt moment, and a legacy that will continue to guide the sport for years to come.
