The Mustangs pulled off a thrilling 6–5 walk-off win over the Mellieha Rookies, taking a 2–1 lead in the series in front of a lively home crowd.

Mellieha struck first in the top of the 1st, with Kole Bartolo ripping a leadoff triple and scoring on a towering 2-run homer by Cody Tabone. The Mustangs answered immediately. Amy Summer Elliot led off with a single, Samuel Moreno followed with a double, and Joseph Bzezi roped a sharp 2-RBI triple to tie the game 2–2.

In the 2nd inning, both pitchers settled down. Elliot and Bartolo kept opposing bats quiet, with no runs crossing the plate.

The game tilted Mellieha’s way again in the 3rd. After singles by Tabone and Zack Xureb, Lucia Zhang smashed a 2-RBI triple to reclaim the lead at 4–2. But the Mustangs refused to fold. Elliot, Moreno, Giulio Micallef, and Bzezi all singled in a rally that brought home two runs and tied it up once more.

In the top of the 4th, Bartolo delivered an RBI single to push Mellieha ahead 5–4. Moreno, now pitching, stopped the damage cold by striking out the next three hitters with two runners on.

The bottom of the 4th brought the magic. With the game on the line, Liam Brincat singled, moving the runner to third. Nathaniel Hancock drove in the tying run with a sharp single, and with no outs, Lucas Bilodeau played hero — lining a clean walk-off hit to score Brincat and seal the 6–5 victory.

The Mustangs now lead the series 2–1 and head to Mellieha for Game 4 on May 24 at 14:30.
