The 2024/2025 slowpitch season got off to an electrifying start as the defending champions, the Mellieha Northenders, clashed with the Mustangs in a thrilling doubleheader featuring several new faces!
The Mustangs started strong in the second inning, scoring two runs, but the Northenders fought back, and it was Marland Jones who made a memorable debut, hitting a single on his first at-bat for the Mellieha Northenders. Joshua Burillo was another standout, going 3 for 3 at the plate and displaying exceptional skills at second base. Efrain Dejan’s outstanding performance in the outfield, tracking down balls with precision, was a crucial part of the Mustangs defense.
However, it was the Mustangs’ Alessio Ripanti who stole the show, earning the MVP title for his stellar performance. His contributions on both offense and defense were instrumental in securing the victory for the Mustangs in Game 1.
